6th-8th Grade Camps

Fenner’s Nature Day Camps for 6th-8th grade provide opportunities to discover the variety of opportunities for recreation and discovery in nature. Each week, campers will meet local experts and embark on a field trip to explore Michigan’s great outdoors.

Ages: 6th-8th Grade

Times: 9 a.m.  to 4 p.m.

Before Care available 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. for $15/week; After Care available 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. for $15/week

Fees: $210 per week; $190 per week for members of Fenner Conservancy

 

June 18-22

Learn from the Land

Conservation is all about the wise use of our natural resources. Campers will look to the land for resources to make items like rope and bowls without the use of modern tools and explore primitive skills like wild edible collection, hide tanning, and open-fire cooking. This weekll include a field trip to the archery range to learn from experts how to use bows and arrows.

July 9-13

Outdoor Adventures

Get off the beaten path and explore the great outdoors through hiking, biking, slacklining, and more. Campers in this week-long adventure camp will practice Leave-No-Trace skills as they experience the variety of recreation activities available in Michigan both on and off site.

July 23-27

Gone Fishing

Hone your fishing skills in this week-long camp focused on what can be found under the water. Campers will learn about the ecology of the rivers and lakes in the Grand River watershed, hike and fish along the Lansing River Trail and at Crego Park, and meet with local anglers to learn about tips and tricks of the trade.

August 6-10

Outdoor Adventures

Scholarships

Scholarships are available through our Norris Ingells Education Fund for those who demonstrate need. Awards may be up to 50% of your total registration fee, and are distributed based on the availability of funds. There is a $500 maximum scholarship award per family. We cannot accept scholarship applications without a completed registration form and deposit.
