March is Maple Syrup Month at Fenner Nature Center! This year in place of the festival, we are offering several different ways to celebrate this sweet season.
MAPLE SYRUP SATURDAYS
MARCH 13 & 27, 2021
10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days
You are invited to sign up for a 10-person tour of our Sugarbush. Led by a Fenner tour guide, you will visit stations like the Modern Evaporator, the Historic Syruping Methods and the Hitching Demonstration to learn about this forest-to-table product, how it is harvested and how it is tied to our Michigander heritage. Participants will also have the opportunity to try tapping a tree, carrying sap yokes and other hands-on demonstrations. Each tour runs 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Between tours, each station will be sanitized in preparation for the next group. Participants will be required to wear masks for the duration of their tour, even outside, and will be required to sanitize their hands upon arrival. Additional hand sanitizer will be provided at each station. Fenner Nature Center will also record participants’ contact information for contact tracing purposes.
Tickets are $15 for Fenner Conservancy Members and $20 for Non-Members.
