Apple Butter Festival is right around the corner and we would love you to join us as a volunteer for our upcoming festivities!
Fenner Nature Center’s Apple Butter Festival returns October 18-19, 2025! Shifts will run in 2.5-hour increments, with a 30-minute break for volunteers working multiple shifts.
Volunteer Descriptions
Education: Education stations are an opportunity to work with the public and teach them about different heritage activities throughout the festival grounds.
Parking: Be the first face visitors see when they arrive at the festival. We welcome each car at the gate, wishing them a great time and thanking them for coming. This is also an opportunity for visitors to donate $5 for parking.
Retail Services and Sales: Assist visitors at our Explore Store and Davis Nature Pavilion. The multiple points of sale are fast-paced stations where you will constantly have a line for items such as the festival’s main attraction, APPLE BUTTER! Fall staples such as cider, donuts and pumpkins will also be sold and are always a hit with visitors.
Set up/Tear down: The festival’s set-up and tear-down are important parts to complete. A significant portion of the set-up takes place the Friday before, with a small portion taking place during shift 1 before the festival starts. Tear-down takes place starting at 5:15 as the festival begins to clear out. Tear-down takes approximately 1 hour.
Floating: Not sure what you would like to do? Floaters will help where they are needed, giving breaks and covering shifts when needed.
No Preference: No preference regarding where you volunteer for the festival? Are you looking to help wherever needed?! Fantastic! We’d love to have you join us and help wherever needed.
To sign up to volunteer for the festival, please fill out the form below. If you are signing up as a group, please fill out one form with the name, phone number, and email of your primary point of contact. This will help place your members at the same station or in the same area during your shift if available. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
