Bowser has been part of the Fenner family for years, inspiring hundreds of visitors to slow down, look closer, and learn more about Michigan’s native wildlife. Now, it’s time to give back to one of our most beloved animal ambassadors by building him a home that truly reflects the care he’s helped us foster in our community.

WHAT: We’re working to create a new ecological exhibit in the upper level of the Visitor Center. This space is designed specifically to meet Bowser’s needs while also serving as a dynamic, hands-on learning environment for children, families, and nature lovers of all ages. This new habitat will offer:
- More space and enrichment for Bowser to explore
- A naturalistic, engaging exhibit that highlights wetland ecosystems
- Educational signage and interactive elements for guests
- A welcoming stop for everyone who visits Fenner (free of charge)
HOW: Creating this space isn’t something we can do alone. Your donation directly supports the materials and features that will make Bowser’s new enclosure both safe and engaging. Funds will help us build a custom tank with proper filtration, install UV lighting and temperature controls to keep Bowser healthy, and add natural elements like rocks, logs, and live plants that allow him to behave as he would in the wild. It also supports the development of interpretive signage and learning features, turning this space into an educational experience for every visitor. Whether you give $5 or $500, you’re helping us care for wildlife and make nature learning accessible for all.
Be part of Bowser’s next big adventure!
