Date: Saturday, May 30th, 2026 | 1:00-3:00 pm

Location: Visitor Center Classroom and Trails (Fenner Nature Center)

This program is open to all ages. This class is designed for beginners, but will utilize some guide books and ID keys. Most of the program will take place outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

Would you like to hone your tree identification skills?
Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to spring tree ID, led by one of our naturalists. We’ll start in the Visitor Center Classroom with an interactive overview of tree terminology and identification tools.

After the indoor portion, we’ll head outside to explore the woodlands and practice our identification skills on as many of Fenner’s 50+ tree species as we can find. Learn how to identify  maples, lindens, chestnuts, and more from their bark, buds, and flowers.

Hike details: Paved and dirt trails, with some moderate inclines.
