Would you like to hone your tree identification skills?
Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to summer tree ID, led by one of our naturalists. We’ll start in the Visitor Center Classroom with an interactive overview of tree terminology and identification tools. Using field guides and a custom dichotomous key made for the trees of Fenner, you’ll learn how to tell silver maple from sugar maple, walnut from hickory, and much more!
After the indoor portion, we’ll head outside to explore the woodlands and practice our identification skills on as many of Fenner’s 50+ tree species as we can find.
